Lights First
Lasers through the ferns
Bigger and bigger backyard parties. I bought lights, then lasers, then projection, then sound. Obsessed, and spending money I had no business spending.
They came to Ferngully, then wanted it at theirs
I stitched YouTube clips together and hoped the beats lined up. No mixing, just a three-hour movie. One song request and I had nothing.
The big jobs taught more than they paid
A three-day festival that cost me a week off work, a band tour to Sydney, nine months of night markets in the rain. Gear out in the weather.
Learned to mix it live
DJ software ran the video clips. That was the moment I could follow a room instead of a playlist.
Strangers started paying me
Bark found them for me. People hire a DJ, not a lighting rig, so private events became the work.
Every unpaid, rained-on, twelve-hour load-in is why we can light a band, a boardroom or a paddock without starting from scratch.
Ferngully, the place
Ferngully is a real place in Cooloolabin. It's where the lights went up first and it's still where things get tried before anyone pays for them. It's a family home, not a venue.

Who you're dealing with
Liam runs the nights. Rochelle looks after clients through the week. Kyla loads in and packs down. That's the team, and it's the same team every time.
I'm not going to promise you how the room will feel. I can promise what comes through the door: lights, music and visuals mixed live, planned with you weeks before, and a backup for anything that matters. If you're planning one night that has to go right, I'd like to talk.
